Both were announced as part of National Tree Week, earlier this month. WebThe North Pennines AONB designation is primarily to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the area. Within the AONB boundary there is approximately 100,000 ha of deep or blanket peat, which equates to 30% of England’s blanket bog.
